Time after time, in the fashion world, we witness the birth of Fashion Designers, whom later, we will call them “God’s of Fashion”. In the last 20/30 years, Milan Fashion Weeks had been a remarbakle fashion event for names like, Valentino, Dolce&Gabbana, Versace, Armani, Gucci, Prada….Such luxury fashion brands are built under a idea of dynasty or in other meanings by the word “house”, what illustrate a fashion company with historic status. Besides those above, today Milan Design Agenda turn its focus on Missoni.
Missoni’s CEO, Angela Missoni has the role to keep running the business and she does it from Angela’s villa in Brunello, a small town near Sumirago (company headquarters). A luminous, angular structure built in 1965 and lovingly renovated by Angela, who moved in three years ago, the house is filled with a colorful, eclectic mix of Missoni fabrics, contemporary art, heirlooms, children’s furniture, and kitsch trinkets.
Surrounding the house is a sheltered garden with stately trees, designed in the 1970s by the Italian landscape architect Pietro Porcinai. To keep all balanced and in its perfect place, Missoni’s maintained a very Italian sense of connectedness with the region and with tradition.
Angela Missoni has on her resume incredible milestones as: hiring the world awarded fashion photographer Mario Testino to shoot the ad campaigns for her early collections, and his moody images of the model Gisele Bündchen draped in Missoni.
