The Symbiosis Business District by Antonio Citterio Patricia Viel was a project that gave a new life to the southern area in Milan. See more about this project which gave a new look and life to this area.
The public square of the Symbiosis business district opened on the 27th of September of this year and it gave the area a definite refreshing look. It opened shortly ahead of the completion of a 21,500 sqm office headquarters where Fastweb (a major Italian telecommunications company) works.
However, the public square surrounding the building definitely is the highlight of this project. The architectural initiative is named and dedicated to Adriano Olivetti, an Italian industrialist and engineer who advocated for the reinvestment of profit with the main goal of benefiting the community. And the final result definitely shows!
Now, the office complex has the aim of creating a unique identity and relationship within the context of the business park and also with its surrounding cityscape. Its design has elements such as largely glazed façades (made to connect its office spaces with the outdoor areas). These glazed elements are reflected beautifully in the water pools around the building, something that favors the presentation of the building.
This is a good example of an architecture project which aimed to create an inviting green space for the whole community.
