Best Of Salone Del Mobile 2022 is here with a sustainability-focused edition that started, on 07_12.06.2022 in Rho Fiera Milano. Salone Del Mobile is one of the biggest interior design events running for over 50 years!
Began in 1961, this Milan Furniture Fair is a platform for promoting Italian furniture and furnishings exports, with over 2,000 exhibitors participating and showcasing excellent goods and solutions for contemporary living that integrate design, technology, flexibility, and sustainability.

LIGHTNING AND DESIGN TRENDS AT SALONE DEL MOBILE 2022
Italian furniture brand Minotti has arguably made the most noise at Salone del Mobile 2022 than any other brand when presenting its 2022 Collection to the world for the first time. Editor Hamish Kilburn is in Milan with the team at Minotti London to exclusively meet this year’s designers and to explore the hero products, which includes a nod to a ’70s British icon.
Each year, Minotti creates a stop-the-press level of design phenomenon that no visitor attending the fair can afford to avoid – and this year was no exception. With its legacy and reputation of manufacturing some of the finest furniture pieces in the world, it’s the brand’s somewhat recent decision – five years ago – to open up its family to hand-selected designers that have really amplified Minotti to an engaged global audience.
The first protagonist to emerge as a result of this meaningful collaboration was Yoko, a light and elegant seating design; a Japanese name with Scandinavian lines that come together in a piece of furniture with an aesthetic matrix, flavored by both cultures. Delicate and sinuous lines, the item has been created with precious cabinet-making interlocking techniques that enrich the structure of legs and armrests in solid ash open-pore wood lacquered with a Liquorice color, or in solid Canaletto walnut stained Light Brown, a chromatic choice that lends a more decisive tone to the elegance of the silhouette. “We spent the most time on this furniture piece,” says Inoda. “We perceive minimalism the same as nature – it’s never in straight lines,” explains Inoda. “The product is curved and authentic.”

From the 7th to the 12th of June, we invite you to experience The Culture Of Design: a trip through the codes that distinguish the design of Maison Cartier Icons, the main subject of a spectacular display for Milan Design Week, in the magnificent setting of Garden Senato.
Once you have crossed the threshold of the historic La Pelota event space (in the Brera district ) , four totemic rooms in the shape of water towers – super light despite the monumental proportions – host the new collections dedicated to the Hermès house. Between plays of light and iridescent colors, the four structures made of wood and covered with translucent paper, combine the interior with the exterior in a unique space, in which objects and colors chase each other to tell all the facets of the creative universe of the French Maison.
Protagonists of the new home collection born under the artistic direction of Charlotte Macaux-Perelman and Alexis Fabry, are five creations made in cashmere, one of Maison’s favorite materials. And then the Oria chairs, in oak and leather, designed by the architect Rafael Moneo; Karumi, the stool created by the Portuguese designer Alvaro Siza; the different ceramic proposals and the selection of lights, such as Coulisse designed by Tomàs Alonso.
The fabrics explore the different processing techniques: cashmere strips form the design of the plaids; the intertwined and hand-dyed squares make up a large patchwork in iridescent tones; the geometric shapes, assembled with a connection technique, evoke the stained glass windows. Finally, a large quilted bedspread brings together colors, patchwork, and the traditional quilting technique. A real hymn to lightness.
