28 Posti, meaning 28 seats, is a nice and cozy new restaurant in Milano, in the efervescent Navigli neighbourhood. Although small, this fine cuisine and simple ambience restaurant, under the command of Calabrian chef Caterina Malerba, deserve a visit.

Designed by architect Francesco Faccin, this venue opened last April, in time for Milan Design Week, and so enjoyed the attention of design lovers from around the world. One curious fact about it: The furniture was designed by Faccin, made from recycled timber in the Bollate prison carpentry workshop, under the guidance of master cabinet maker Giuseppe Filippini.

Exposed brick-work on the walls, peeling plaster and industrial style concrete flooring make for an amazing and very unique design, complemented by wooden fixtures.

As for the food, the main dishes show that the chef is a great fan of fish, but you can have other options with meat and also vegetarian options. Plus, the bread is home made by Caterina herself.
