Expo Milano 2015 is the Universal Exhibition that Milan, will host from May 1 to October 31, 2015. The opening of the Universal Exposition is just around the corner and a number of questions keep cropping up. Here is an overview of the various types of tickets, prices and reductions, including tickets available from 5 euro to the 2-3 day carnet and a ticket to attend the official opening on May 1.
Where can I buy tickets?
One of the easiest ways to buy tickets for Expo Milano 2015 is via the relevant section on the official website. All types of tickets and packages are described here, including those for families, the over-65s, and schools. In addition to the most Frequently Asked Questions, there is a detailed price list and instructions for how to buy tickets as a gift. Tickets can also be purchased at Expo Gate (Piazza Cairoli, downtown Milan) or from an Authorised Reseller.

What types of tickets are there?
Various options are available: Open or Fixed Date; Full or Reduced Price; Single Day or Multi-day. Simply choose from these options according to your needs. Open Date: Valid for the entire day on a date of your choice between May 2 and October 31. Once you have purchased your ticket, access the MyExpo section of the official website following the instructions, and enter the ticket code in UPPER CASE to confirm the date that you wish to visit the exhibition site.
Fixed Date: Valid for the entire day on a specific date between May 2 and October 31.
Evening ticket: For those who want to enjoy the evening events and culinary activities. Valid for entry starting at 19:00. Please note that the exhibition site closes at 23:00. Tickets can be purchased via the official website, at Expo Gate (Piazza Cairoli, downtown Milan), and from all Authorised Resellers. Buy now.
Expo 2015 Milan Dates information:
May 1 Opening: For the opening day of the Exhibition, this ticket provides admission to the official celebrations to inaugurate the six months of events, debates and experiences from around the world on nutrition and the protection of the planet. Buy now.
Multi-day: valid for two consecutive days, between May 2 and October 31. It is less expensive than purchasing two one-day tickets, and is available either as a Fixed or Open option. In the case of Fixed Multi-day tickets, the initial date is selected at the time of purchase, with the second being the following day. In the case of Open Multi-day tickets, you choose the first date at your convenience, while the second is, of course, the following day.
2-3 day Carnet: If you prefer to visit Expo Milano 2015 whenever you want, you can choose this option. These tickets are available for two or three open dates between May 2 and October 31. Tickets can be purchased via the official website, at Expo Gate (Piazza Cairoli, downtown Milan), and from all Authorised Resellers. Buy now.
Cirque du Soleil: Tickets can be purchased online for the show entitled ALLAVITA! that is being performed at the Open Air Theater from Wednesday through Sunday, between May 13 and August 30. Season pass: A nominal, non-transferable season ticket is now available that allows entry every day from the date of activation until 31 October 2015. Pass holders have their own dedicated entrance. Order now onlineand save time!
For people with disabilities, tickets are available at a reduced cost, upon presentation of appropriate documentation.
Groups: Groups of at least 16 persons will be entitled to a discount on the normal ticket price. The reduced price will be available only on the day of the visit, from the Expo ticket office on the Exhibition site.
Reductions for children, students and seniors
Children under three enter free of charge, but need a ticket. These tickets will be issued at Expo Gate (Piazza Cairoli, downtown Milan), or from selected Authorised Resellers, details of which will be published shortly and, in due course, from the Expo ticket office on the Exhibition site. Reduced price tickets for children between 4 and 13, are sold only in conjunction with a Family Pack, or can be purchased individually when presenting a previously purchased adult ticket. In addition, students between 14 and 25, and seniors over 65 are entitled to a discount on the ticket price.
Tickets for all these categories of visitors can be purchased at Expo Gate (Piazza Cairoli, downtown Milan), from selected Authorised Resellers, details of which are to be published shortly and, in due course from the Expo ticket office on the Exhibition site.
To be eligible for a reduced-price ticket, valid ID providing proof of age is required, along with proof of student-status, where relevant. Only the over-65s can purchase tickets online.
Schools: an educational visit to Expo Milano 2015
A € 10 student ticket is available for school groups (nursery schools, primary, middle and high schools) from schools both in Italy and elsewhere. Follow this link for access to the online booking form. After the reservation is made, the Expo Milano 2015 Booking Office will contact the school to complete the purchase.
Universities at Expo
Universities can purchase tickets to Expo Milano 2015 for € 10 per student. In order to purchase tickets at discounted prices, students should contact their university, which will provide details on ordering and purchases. Universities wishing to apply for this concession should e-mail schoolbooking@expo2015.org with “Convenzione Università:” followed by the name of the University, in the subject line.
People with disabilities
For people with disabilities, a reduced-price ticket will be available from Expo Gate (Piazza Cairoli, downtown Milan), and from selected Authorised Resellers, details of which will be published shortly, and, in due course, from the Expo ticket office on the Exhibition site.
Documentation certifying a disability, as specified here, is required when purchasing this type of Expo Milano 2015 ticket. A complimentary ticket will also be provided for the person accompanying a visitor with disabilities in an official capacity, upon presentation of relevant documentation.
Documentation can be sent via email to: disability-tickets@expo2015.org for purchases made by credit card (payment by PayPal is not accepted). Reduced-cost tickets are also available for the Cirque du Soleil show ALLAVITA! upon presentation of the appropriate documentation.
How much are tickets for Expo Milano 2015?
Ticket prices for the Universal Exposition varies according to the type of ticket and on the period in which it is purchased. The complete price list can be viewed here.
The standard ticket includes access to all of the pavilions and the many events scheduled during the daytime and in the evening, with the exception of the Cirque du Soleil show ALLAVITA!, which will be performed daily from Wednesday to Sunday between May 13 and August 30 in the Open Air Theater on the Expo Milano 2015 site.
Ticket prices also include one admission to the Triennale di Milano museum, Viale Alemagna 6, in downtown Milan, to see the Arts & Foods exhibit that is one of the Expo’s five Thematic Areas. This exhibit opens on April 10, 2015
