This is a look back at one of Salone del Mobile 2018’s most interesting moments: we are talking about Paola Navone’s experimenting in expanding the Gervasoni collections with some interesting furniture pieces as a result.
Gervasoni mostly introduced armchairs and sofas as novelties for last year’s edition. All of them either tried to have some innovation to them or to add a little upgrade that told the new version apart from the old. We’ve picked six furniture pieces in our look back at the result of Paola Navone’s experiment.
The Nuvola Armchair not only is eye-catching thanks to its color but also to its swollen like appearance. Not to mention the fact that it still looks (and is!) comfortable. This was designed to provide comfort to the person who sits on it regardless of the space this chair is placed in.
The best way to define the MIK sofa is by its contrast between the classicism of the sofa structure and the soft part as represented by the seat and backrest. This furniture piece is made from large cushions and the sofa is complete with a special saddle stitch. It’s simple yet effective as both a comfort and decoration object.
The aesthetic of the BRICK collection was one of the most visually interesting pieces of furniture. The mirrored surfaces with a touch of a sanded graphic pattern give them an icy appearance and an undoubtedly very innovative aesthetic.
MOON was a set of very beautiful tables round, square and rectangular – and also side tables. Probably the most eye-catching feature to them is its ceramic bases that give the tables a lunar look to them. That is thanks to the ceramic’s irregular texture which is beautifully combined with both a marble and aluminum top.
This was an upgrade to the NEXT sofa, the main difference being that the NEXT 18 sofa positions a higher backrest in two different sizes. Not to mention the fact that the comfortable cushions added to the backrest give a bigger comfort to this fine furnishing.
