The old pride of Berlin’s Kurfürstendamm, the Hotel Zoo Berlin, has been restored to its previous majesty and magnificence. This gorgeous, historic hotel is undoubtedly the best option if you’re visiting this charming city.
An exceedingly rare vintage diamond that has been polished, re-creating the glitz and glam of Berlin in the twentieth century with a sense of the future. With 141 rooms and suites in the heart of West Berlin, Hotel Zoo Berlin combines history with contemporary. The hotels’ interior design was produced by Dayna Lee, a well-known designer based in New York and Los Angeles.
The Hotel Zoo Berlin sits in City West, on a lively promenade. Dayna Lee of Powerstrip Studios, an award-winning American designer, was responsible for the hotel’s new look. They’ve been recognized for their outstanding design work and have worked on big projects all across the world. She developed a townhouse-feeling that honors Berlin’s traditions and provides a sense of New York and London grandeur by paying close attention to detail and maintaining historic aspects of the structure.
Because details make all the difference in an interior design project like Hotel Zoo Berlin, the goal was to preserve the building’s historic qualities while maintaining the hotel’s antique charm. As a result, an already excellent hotel has acquired a unique townhouse character, retaining Berlin’s history while also infusing aspects of New York and London elegance. This 1889 building has survived WWII bombing. Visitors may enjoy beautifully restored high ceilings and original brick and steelwork, but the building’s historical magnificence was never lost, and it was wonderfully submerged in a strong sense of modernity.
The 141 spacious rooms and suites include bespoke furnishings and a bright Berliner attitude, creating a whimsical fairy-tale world within. Plush, thick draperies, superb rugs, George Smith sofas, and enormous platform beds merge in wonderful harmony to create a glistening ambience typical of 1920s Berlin.
One of the interior common areas is a cozy living room with a double-sided fireplace that flickers both inside and out into the open-air winter garden, inviting guests to linger. You won’t regret treating yourself to a lunch at the elegant Grace Restaurant, where chef Martin Bruhn produces wonderful dishes. On the rooftop, summer night lovers will find the ideal setting for a drink while admiring the most spectacular views of southwest Berlin.
