WOODWORKING

Woodworking is the activity or skill of making items from wood and includes cabinet making (cabinetry and bespoke furniture), wood carving, joinery, carpentry, and woodturning. Historically, woodworkers relied upon the woods native to their region, until transportation and trade innovations made more exotic woods available to the craftsman. It’s needless to stay that both of the mid-century collections by Studiopepe and Carlo Donati were handbuilt by the finest Portuguese master artisans!

METALWORKING

This unique craftsmanship technique is the process of working with metals to create individual parts, assemblies, or large-scale structures. The term covers a wide range of work from large ships and bridges to precise engine parts and delicate jewelry. It, therefore, includes a correspondingly wide range of skills, processes, and tools, and guess what? This is one of the main techniques used to built Studiopepe and Carlo Donati‘s newest mid-century collections!

TRADITIONAL UPHOLSTERY METHODS

Upholstery is the most common fine art when it comes to the luxury furniture world, especially if we are talking about seats, with padding, springs, webbing, and fabric or leather covers. Traditional upholstery uses materials like coil springs (post-1850), animal hair (horse, hog, and cow), coir, straw, and hay or linen scrims, and is done by hand, building each layer up. To create their ultimate new mid-century collectionsStudiopepe and Carlo Donati have selected the best fabrics and upholstery experts in the market!
