Where to go in Milan and things to do in Milan from 12th to 17th of April? First, you know about isaloni, right? Then…Creative and bold! The designers duo Campana Brothers will release at Salone del Mobile 2016 a new cabinet AQUARIO. The creative flair of Campana Brothers meets the skillful fancy of Bd Barcelona. From this encounter comes Aquário, the new cabinet that will be presented on the occasion of the Salone Del Mobile 2016 in Milan.
“We have been in touch with BD Barcelona Design’s art director Ramón Úbeda for a couple of years now. We discussed ideas that have matured and resulted into the buffet we crafted. We were inspired by the idea of an Aquarium to create this piece’, explainsFernando Campana.
Humberto continues: ‘We love to create hybrids using two different materials; a warm one and a cold one. It has become part of our design language. I wanted to play with the idea of opposite weights too; the lightness of the glass and the massiveness of the wood. The immaterialness of the first one and the physicalness of the second one’.
And Fernando adds: ‘The sideboard is made out of wood, ash or pinewood, and colored glass doors. There are glass shelves inside the buffet in order to let the light and the transparency of the material. Two different color versions will be available”.
Campana’s fearlessly playful furniture designs, are all over the world and at Carpenters Workshop Gallery in Paris will take a presentation of unexpected materials, which are the subject of an eye-opening new exhibition, Manufatura.
Impossible to miss is the Technicolor toy fest that is the duo’s Armchair of Thousand Eyes – a stuffed-toy seat-cum-sculpture created with Fendi and originally presented at Milan Design Week 2015. For one week only, the fantastical chair, made of more than 100 of Fendi’s little monster accessories and “bag bugs”, will be on full, exuberant display.
Now, how would look if you added AQUARIUM sideboard to any of these expensive house rooms:
