The Studio spent the last two years creating one of the most classy interiors in the city of Milan, wonderfully layered rooms were originally decorated in the 1950s by Renzo Mongiardino, Studio Peregalli’s own maestro.
Both Roberto Peregalli Peregalli and Laura Sartori Rimini worked under the tutelage of the legendary Italian decorator until his death in 1998. Renzo Mongiardino was Italy’s grand illusionist that raised atmosphere to an art form, the greatest designer of the twentieth century. Mongiardino was a great talent but he was never a household name — not even in his native Italy, where he lived and worked until his death in 1998 at the age of eighty-one.
After six decades the apartment went from a glorious house to a forgoten piece of architecture. But was only one way to get back the magic of the Mongiardino interiors. The restoration began with a complete rethinking of the home’s layout to make it more livable for a family with two children.
