This is part 5 of our article featuring 20 bespoke names from every corner of this country.

FIMA

FIMA is an architectural firm that is known for focusing its projects on “people, their needs and the environment in which they live”. When taking on any new challenge they aim at two main keywords: harmony and balance. Architecture is definitely the leading factor that stands in the centre of their set of services, providing the utmost modern quality to clients.

Piuarch

Piuarch was created by Francesco Fresa, Germán Fuenmayor, Gino Garbellini and Monica Tricario all the way back in 1996. The four founders wanted to merge different experiences into one single shared architectural project. Right now they have a group of over more than forty architects and engineers from various parts of the world. In their projects, they pay particular attention to details such as natural light and the relationship between architecture and art.

Binocle

Binocle is an architecture firm focused on the conversion of old houses, giving many ancient spots a whole new life. Founded by architect Lorenzo Bini, this firm focuses mainly on services such as Architectural Design, Urban Planning and Landscape Architecture, having an abstract take on many of their new challenges.

Lado Architetti

Lado Architetti was created by Luca Ladinetti and it’s a multidisciplinary project that deals mostly with architecture and landscape. His take on projects within this area starts with a careful reading of the context, moving on to a synthesis that will result in a resolution of the best solution for the project at stake, considering factors such as environmental sustainability and the optimization of energy and the needed resources.

Alessandro Fantetti

This firm is the ultimate reflection of Alessandro Fantetti’s clean and simple style reflected on every project. He often likes integrating this with natural elements and neutral colours. He’s also an architect who provides the customer with a complete service that will guide him through the complete interior design process, alongside a team of architects, interior designers, render artists and technical operators.

Locatelli Partners

Locatelli Partners is one of the most recent names on our list, having been created in 1993 (at the time known as CLS Architetti studio) by the trio of classmates Massimiliano Locatelli, Davide Agrati, Giovanna Cornelio and Annamaria Scevola. This studio has worked in many areas of design, both architecture and interior designing. In every challenge they take they try to integrate what they call the “spirit of the city of Milan” in every new project.

Extravega

Extravega is a good example of a firm which provides a set of services totally Made in Italy. Founded in 1985, they are focused on the architectural and interior design sectors, with headquarters in NY, Milan and Sydney. Aside from providing a complete service for the clients, the firm is also engaged in extensive research especially regarding new technologies to make their projects easier.

ASZ Architetti

ASZ Architetti is the culmination of the experience of engineers and architects who always aim to “create excellent designs with impeccable execution”. They provide a range of construction and design services through a careful interpretation of their clients’ vision. Not to mention their side brand, SUPERFUTUREDESIGN, which has managed to create its own name thanks to the creation of modern spaces such as famous commercial properties, or even classic and charming residences like villas.

NOS Design

NOS Design has a strong presence in London, Rome and Shanghai, having developed unique experiences with clients in a variety of areas such as Technical Urbanism, Urban and Architectural Design, and Interior Design. This is the result of Benedetta Gargiulo Morelli’s initiative to create her own business, making use of the skills acquired in previous experiences within the leading studio Foster & Partners.

Roselli Architects

Roselli Architects is an architecture and design firm dedicated to the field of architecture, urban planning and interior design. It was founded by architect Andrea Roselli, who has a wide experience regarding the design of hotels, companies, resorts, and luxury villas, as well as in the restoration and recovery of houses, historical buildings and apartments. Their modern and minimalistic design is pleasing to more than one type of culture which is why it’s no wonder that their work has reached beyond Italy’s borders.

A++ is known for being a brand of Arch Group dedicated to a variety of areas, among them product design, communication, architecture and interiors. They work in more than 10 countries tackling a variety of spaces, from private residences to luxury yachts. Their style consists of the establishment of a dialogue “between closed-open, light-heavy, monumental, ephemeral, color, non color” with the purpose of creating a space with functional and livable features for the clients.

Claudio Nardi Architects

Claudio Nardi Architects is a firm that approaches every new challenge with the intention of transforming it completely seen as this is to them the main factor behind their projects: according to them it provides a “dialogue between tradition and innovation, between form and function, between “product” and communication”. Their work has heavy inspiration from Renaissance Humanism (Florence), in the knowledge of artisans in the Mediterranean culture and lastly on Italian rationalism.

Think Future Design

This firm was born in 2004 by the initiative of engineer and designer Edoardo Carlino, and to this day it’s a company that specializes in architecture, interiors and industrial design. Their projects are not only the result of an extensive experience but also of a successful mix of technology, materials, style and design which results in a modern and effective take regardless of the project category.

Guiuseppina Arena

Guiuseppina Arena is a woman with a notable experience of over 18 years in Yacht Interiors, Luxury Residences, Private Jets, and Retail Showrooms. Her work has reached countries such as Italy, Asia, North and South America, and a strong factor was the fact that she was connected several aspects of architecture and different forms of art during her growing up and training in Italy. Her chic and timeless interiors have definitely managed to charm many clients.

Mac Milano

MAC (Milano Architettura Contemporanea) was founded by Claudio Calabrese, Stefania Martinelli and Davide Medaglia, and it’s currently based in Milan. The firm deals with urban planning, architectural, interior and exhibit design, concept retail, and artistic and technical direction of building sites. With a heavily qualified team of many design trained people, the best way to define their work is as a combo of elegance and utility.

CREW

With almost 29 years of experience, CREW is a leading Italian multidisciplinary practice of engineers and architects which provides full range services, that include architectural, structural and MEP design. They’ve tackled a variety of places from metro stations to energy plant, form large commercial structures to motorway structures and even roads. They are also known today as an international practice of architecture and structural engineering thanks to their modern and rigorous take on their challenges.

Studio Ricciotti

Giovanni Ricciotti is the creator of Studio Ricciotti, and he’s had an incredible training in architecture firms, which gave him the confidence to start his own business. Currently, he works as a consultant of architecture and urban designs on behalf of many public and private organisations. His studio has a multidisciplinary take on urbanism, urban planning, urban design, infrastructures and restoration.

MineriRender

MinieriRender is a company that has employed many young architects, web designers, 3D modellers and animators. The fact that they have both Italian and foreign architecture studios allows them to have a varied take on their projects within architecture, industrial design and technology. ARCHITETTURA MATASSONI

Architettura Matassoni is an architecture firm which has been created with inspiration from the classic figure of an architect who is used to moving through many creative thoughts and figuring out practical solutions in the fields of architectural design. Their designs are very linear, fluid and minimalistic, adapting to the tastes of a variety of clients.

Bicuardo

Lastly, we have Bicuardo, a design firm which is involved in a variety of projects worldwide that go from small to large scale. Located in Rome, this is a firm with a style of work heavily influenced by the Past and with a strong commitment to the Future. They’ve taken on private houses and large scale office buildings, all of which are intended to suit an individual client with a place suited to every type of needs. In their own words:

“We believe that good design shall be thoughtful of the inhabitants and of the natural environment while being tailored on the clients needs.”
