Best Of Milan Design Week 2023 | Discover Everything About It !

Best Of Milan Design Week 2023 is here, with a sustainability-focused edition that started, 18.04.2023 in Rho Fiera Milano. Salone Del Mobile is one of the biggest interior design events running for over 60 years! Began in 1961, this Milan Furniture Fair is a platform for promoting Italian furniture and furnishings exports, with over 2,000 exhibitors participating and showcasing excellent goods and solutions for contemporary living that integrate design, technology, flexibility, and sustainability.

The Fiera Milano convention facility, located in Rho, about a 30-minute travel by car or rail from the centre of Milan, is home to the 61st edition of Salone del Mobile, the Milan furniture expo that attracts nearly 2,000 industry firms from across the world. The Milan-based showroom events and design installations known as Fuorisalone take place from April 18 to 23.

About Milan Design Week Fair 2023

It is advisable to move quickly around Salone del Mobile if you want to see as many new manufacturers and product premieres as you can. Plan on spending several days exploring the 16 halls and the tens of thousands of business representatives, who will be showcasing products for every room of the house (including the home spa, office, gym, and outdoor spaces). Euroluce, a biennial lighting expo featuring the latest and greatest in illumination, is also held in conjunction with the Milan furniture fair. The SaloneSatellite exhibition, the consistently inspiring part showcasing the creations of young designers, is also coming back.

Milan Design Week Fair 2023 | Best Stands

Swiftly moving through Salone del Mobile is your best bet if you want to catch a glimpse of as many new manufacturers and product premieres as you can. Allow many days to explore the 16 halls and the tens of thousands of business representatives, who will be exhibiting in categories that cover every room of the house (including the home spa, workplace, gym, and outdoor spaces).

Sigma, Hall 01 – Stand F06

The fairgrounds will also feature a wide range of cultural activities, such as a lectures series held in the Aurora plaza, which was built by Formafantasma. The concept of light will be explored in a number of shows, including an overview of architectural photographer Hélène Binet’s work, a Martina Sanzarello-curated tribute to the incandescent lightbulb, and an installation by artist Maurizio Nannucci.

DV Home Collection, Hall 01 – Stand H10 H12

Brera and its surroundings are the pulsing core of Fuorisalone, where a swarm of temporary and permanent showrooms may keep you busy for the six days of Salone del Mobile. Dimoregallery and Fornasetti are constants, but this year, a number of newcomers are expected to upend the status quo: With the help of the architecture company OMA, SolidNature is organizing an immersive show in the basement of a private residence, giving Sabine Marcelis, Laila Gohar, and Iranian artist Bita Fayyazi complete creative control to reinvent the garden.

Carpanese Home Italia, Hall 03 – Stand G14

In 1990, Marco Bellani founded Carpanese Home Italia, a family-run company with the aim of creating the most luxurious pieces of furniture using only the best materials available and combining traditional construction methods with innovative design, thanks also to the continuous search for new materials.

Turri, Hall 07 – Stand M14-M16

Turri’s history is rooted in the history of Italian design and began in 1925 when Pietro Turri started his workshop in the heart of Brianza. In almost one hundred years of events and decisions, many situations have changed, and today Turri is considered a reference company in the international market for contemporary furniture, and an ambassador of craftsmanship for the most refined contexts. From magnificent private penthouses to luxury hotels, from yachts
to the most exclusive restaurants, Turri overall programme offers a broad choice of products.

Pullcast, Hall 03 – Stand G27

PullCast’s latest collection of designer hardware – the perfect way to elevate the aesthetic of your furniture and home décor. Their exquisite range of door handles, cabinet knobs, and drawer pulls are designed to add a touch of class and refinement to any space. Each piece is crafted using only the finest materials, ensuring both durability and long-lasting beauty.

Alchymia, Hall 03 – Stand E15 E19

ALCHYMIA is an innovative company; its philosophy, summarized by the word decoration, has its lifeblood in the constant research and enhancement of tradition, manual skills and quality.

Each year, the Salone del Mobile brings its “good looking” and “well made” products back onto an internationally important stage, whilst also being proof of how the evolution of the trade fair process can be accelerated. The event has always been a testament to an extraordinary curiosity, willingness and openness to discussion and to a tremendous ability to progress, innovating consolidated formulas. Over the last few difficult years, the Salone has initiated a concrete revision of its exhibition format, geared to continue to generate value for the entire design community.

Illulian, Hall 3 – Stand D18 D20

Illulian, a historic and prestigious brand, internationally renowned in the field of design and custom handmade rugs, has never stopped evolving in its over 60 years of activity through a process of uninterrupted growth, participating in great projects and collaborating with prestigious figures in the world of architecture, design, and fashion.

Moroso takes over the prestigious urban space of Spiga 26, the creative hub developed by Hines, the global real estate investment, development, and management company, in the heart of Milan’s fashion, design and lifestyle Quadrilateral to create an unusual and bold pop-up store: Diesel Living with Moroso reinterprets space with a design that mirrors the brand’s fearless, ironic and irreverent attitude. The new pop-up showroom is a bold, 360° representation of the Diesel style, summed up in the surreal and unexpected window takeover featuring the iconic Diesel Red. The pop-up will remain open for one month, from 18 April to 20 May to leave a lasting and concrete mark.

Boca do Lobo, Hall 3 – Stand G25 

Boca do Lobo returns to the capital of design. With curved shapes, muted colors, and gallery-worthy finishes, you’ll see first-hand ten remarkable new designs, infused with the finest craftsmanship, alongside time-honored collections.

Chairs are the main attraction of Loewe’s latest exhibition, which is being held in the courtyard of Palazzo Isimbardi as part of Salone del Mobile 2023. The project shows different weaving techniques in various materials, including leather, raffia, thermal blankets, shearling and felt, which are traditionally used to create tactile textures and decorative reinventions of the humble Stick chair.

Covet House, Hall 3 – Stand G24 G28

Salone del Mobile 2023 is full of surprises and Covet House is, indeed, one of them. They offer the ultimate tradeshow experience and showcase the very best of luxury design and curated products. Inside you can also find Caffe Latte Home and Covet Collection.

Following the commission given to Gaetano Pesce to create a temporary, site-specific artwork for the Summer 2023 Bottega Veneta fashion show, the dialogue continues, and a further stage is explored. Once again, given creative carte blanche, this time in the brand’s Montenapoleone store, Pesce creates a unique installation called ‘Vieni a Vedere’. Spanning the store, the immersive and cavernous installation utilizes resin and fabric to create a unique experience that the visitor travels through. It frames an edition of handbags realized by Bottega Veneta for the artist according to his designs.

Luxxu, Hall 3 – Stand G25 + Hall 9 – Stand 246

Initially a lighting brand, Luxxu has rapidly expanded its product range to include furniture and upholstery to create what is referred to as “The Luxxu dream.” Luxxu’s collection is designed to elevate any interior design to a new level, reflecting the desire for luxury and the finer things in life that come with owning a luxury home.

Kartell, Hall 3 – Stand A11 B16 A21 B18

Kartell has been one of the symbolic companies of Made in Italy design for over 70 years, which has based its design path on continuous innovation that ranges from creative thinking to the use of materials, industrial processes and communication through shop windows and the digital world. Kartell today is the perfect synthesis of its past and its continuous projection towards the future, combining the great heritage of business culture with the desire to always explore new paths and new experiences dominated by a great passion for doing.

Circu Magical Furniture, Hall 3 – Stand G24 G28

Design show Alcova returns to Milan for its fifth edition in 2023, presenting over 70 projects from international brands and studios. The event, which takes place during Milan Design Week 2023, showcases products, materials, living environments and technology while also hosting talks and lectures.

Essential Home + DelightFULL, Hall 11 – Stand E231

Essential Home and DelightFULL became a worldwide reference for design through its unique furniture and lighting designs inspired by the Golden Era. This year, discover new and exciting pieces that showcase the best of Portuguese craftsmanship, as well as contract options and a special focus on exquisite lighting products that will change the way you view design.

Avid fans of La DoubleJ’s famous maximalist fashion and homewares are in luck. The brand has officially entered the wallpaper world, with an offering of “joy-inducing” patterns, available for bespoke projects upon request. In an effort to give customers a proper preview, the label’s new prints are displayed on the bathroom walls of eight well-known restaurants, landmarks, and design hubs in Milan during Salone del Mobile 2023.

CPRN Homood, Hall 1 – Stand B05 B07

CPRN Homood’s furniture collection has been designed by a team of highly skilled designers and technicians to give life to a full concept brand that can create a real home lifestyle (the name “Homood” means home-mood), producing not only furniture but also lighting, carpets, accessories, home fragrances, outdoor furniture and complete bedding collection 100% customizable.

Home’Society, Hall 3 – Stand G24

Brabbu offers four primary spaces at the Home’Society stand: a living room, a dining room, a meeting zone, and two hallway designs. In each of these areas, they aimed to imitate a real house design so that you could see what the items look like in a real home context.

Italian architect and designer Cristina Celestino has temporarily refitted a historic Milan tennis club with furniture that references nets, courts and rackets. For Milan Design Week, Celestino has taken over the headquarters of the Tennis Club Milano Bonacossa, a building designed by renowned Milanese architect Giovanni Muzio and constructed in 1930. Her installation, Clay Court Club, sees the building updated with furniture and fittings that feature playful references to tennis.

Roche Bobois – Hall 6 | Stand C24

In celebration of the brand’s sixtieth anniversary, Roche Bobois has decided to continue the dialogue with Joana Vasconcelos by asking her to design a line of seating and decorative accessories as the flagship collection of the year. Maintaining the point of view of an artist rather than a designer, she took on the challenge of designing pieces intended to interact with a wider audience. By transposing her themes and questioning to everyday objects, she offers her vision of the world adapted to the organization of living spaces.
