Today, Milan Design Agenda, pays a deserved tribute to the most recent awarded “Italian Architect 2013”. We speak of Studio Piuarch.
Chosen from among 70 nominations made by members to the 105 provincial orders of the architects, Studio Piuarch – composed by Francesco Fresa, Germán Fuenmayor, Gino Garbellini and Monica Tricario – was considered emblematic example of how you can achieve a high architectural quality and urban from the complexity of the forces that act on the transformation of the environment today.
Organized by the National Council of Architects, in consultation with the Maxxi, the Feast of the Architect, in its first year, the award aims to celebrate and highlight the architecture and the quality of the project in their higher dimension of society and culture. The official presentation is scheduled Friday, February 14 in Rome.
Now, Milan Design Agenda will show you a little resumé of Piuarch team and projects. Enjoy it !
Studio Piarch is formed by Francesco Fresa, Germán Fuenmayor, Gino Garbellini and Tricario Monica, who joined in 1996 with the intention of merging different experiences in a common project of architecture after the apprenticeship in the studio of shar Gregotti.
Studio Piuarch, an open plan derived from an industrial space that once housed a printing shop, is located in the Brera, in Milan city center. Here Piuarch designs and builds public buildings, office complexes, residences, commercial spaces and boutiques to the design of urban planning, with the help of consultants from different disciplines.
Piuarch is strongly related to fashion brands, first with Dolce & Gabbana – for which they made five trips – and then Gucci: occasions they have helped a lot dissemination of the study and its reputation, but that also contain the risk of being referred to as the architects of fashion, ‘those in the world of luxury’.
