One of the best Italian Architects of 20t century, but he also dedicates his expertise to design. Antonio Citterio operates at international level developing complex long-term projects, at all scales and in synergy with a qualified network of specialist consultants. Antonio Citterio and B&B Italia, one of the greatest italian design collaborations.
Amongst italian design brands that Antonio Citterio collaborates, there is one that stands up above all. B&B Italia, has been one of the best partnerships we’ve seen so far between this big design player and one of the greatest italian architects/designers. Time to give you a few ideas of which pieces you should go for to furnish your apartment.
*Frank modular sofa
The modular Frank system, presented in 2008, has been expanded with new elements that make it even more versatile. The changes include the addition of a series of smaller elements for the right and left terminal elements, benches with backrests, central benches, chaise lounges and sofas. All elements in the system are available in two depths (91 cm and 106 cm). The formal structure of the system has undergone no modifications while a new black chrome-plated finish is now available for the feet and profile.
The range of Maxalto sofas has been further expanded with Lucrezia, a modular system that includes traditional seating designs distinguished by a seat cushion with a band and trim or decorated with capitonné stitching. All elements with traditional seating can be custom made, while still preserving all the formal features and comfort. Covers are available in leather with dyed trim or fabric with matching trim or contrasting velvet trim.
With this updated Luis design the modular seating system, proposed in numerous versions, offers a solution that unites comfort and formal elegance. Balanced volumes, measured proportions and an extremely sof appearance thanks to down cushions, accompany a wide range of compositional solutions that can adapt to different sized spaces.
Mart armchairs, introduced in 2003 with innovative technology for thermoforming thick leather, are now proposed, both for the fabric as well as for the leather version, with a new swivel base with four spokes in smoked stained oak.
*Michel small center table
In five sizes and top in rough-cut smoked oak, Michel small tables reinterpret the design and finishes of sofa frames.
*Michel seating system
Well as 5 square and rectangular ottomans. this system is characterised by a new slim structure in nickel bronzed painted or black chromed aluminium and the seat cushion offers a different comfort.
Far from any abvious attempt to be different, Ray is a modular system that starts with linear elements, chaise longue, terminal elements, armchair and ottomans with slip cover, which can be used to form all sorts of configurations, even corner and peninsula models. Ray focuses on the concept of comfort and on tailored details that are expressed in particular through the blanket stitch tailoring, in the same or a contrast colour, which enhances the look of removable covers.
*Xilos round marble dining table
The distinguishing feature of the Xilos table collection, available in a square version and three round sizes, is its cross-shaped frame in grey oak, brushed light oak, black oak or smoked oak. The round version is also available with a top in white calacatta marble or emperador marble and can be paired with a swivel tray in two sizes and six finishes (the same types of wood as the frame or with a top in white calacatta marble or emperador marble).
